Katherine is a great location for drive-yourself touring to places such as its spectacular gorge. It is also a makes a good base for exploring Kakadu or branching out for one- or two-day sorties to places such as Kununurra in Western Australia.
Located just a street back from the main street, St Andrews provides comfortable apartment accommodation. With fully equipped kitchens, self-catering is easy (a BBQ by the tropical pool is also a favourite) and the spacious lounges have plenty of room, particularly for a family or friends travelling together. Edith Falls is absolutely gorgeous and the Goldfields Trail is fascinating to explore.
