Remember the early 1960s when a holiday near the beach meant a house with a skillion roof, picture windows to capture the view and lawns that tickled your bare feet' It was a more innocent time when even the bikinis were modest and family cars had tail fins. Well you can have it all again at Seashells, a marvellously renovated retro residence in a brilliant location not far from Kiama's main street.
Seashells welcomes children. It's bright, light and airy, with a downstairs games room and three bathrooms to take the fuss out of cleaning up sand-encrusted juniors or getting adults ready to dine in one of Kiama's restaurants. The renovated kitchen is ready for whipping up holiday meals, all the entertainment options are there for downtime plus lots of comfy beds for night.
And when everyone has had their fill of great beaches, you can see the sites such as
the famous blowhole discovered by George Bass in 1797, the 50-metre Carrington Falls, Cathedral Rocks or Gerringong Heritage Centre. Then there are winery visits, shopping along Kiama's main street or perhaps forays to Jamberoo and Berry. Location: 135km or 90 minutes south of Sydney. RA 35 B7.
Facilities: One house: three bedrooms (one queen, one double, one twin), three bathrooms, lounge (gas fire, TV, DVD, CD), full kitchen, AC, courtyard, BBQ. Downstairs games room/laundry. Sleeps up to six people. Self-catering.
