Driftwood is a house that inhabits dreams. Irresistibly friendly and wondrously positioned on the edge of Lake Conjola, this soulful 1960s cottage is as familiar with sandy feet as it is with laughter-filled dinner parties. And though it is tempting to rave about the stylish nautical interior – all light and breezy – the real thing here is position, position, position.
Ease into your time at Driftwood with a contemplative drink on the deck while absorbing the utter beauty and privilege of being here. The views across the pristine waters of Lake Conjola are so seductive that before long, you will find yourself drawn to strolling around the lake, perhaps going for a swim, heading off for a picnic (picnic basket supplied) or visiting the corner shop to hire a boat or canoe. And if you need a little more oomph, take Driftwood's boogie board for a surf at nearby Conjola Beach.
 As the evening sun sets and your appetite calls, barbecue some local seafood and listen to the parrots jostling for branch positions, knowing that you will sink into deeply comfy beds in beautiful bedrooms. And when you wake in the morning, it will all still be there.
