Imagine sitting on the balcony of a graceful homestead, surrounded by Edna Walling-inspired gardens and spotted gums. Bermagui River meanders below and the beach is just down the river. You have already been enthusiastically welcomed by hosts Beverly and Peter Bray, and by their sheep, goat, chooks and ducks. Now it is time to charge your glass, drop your shoulders and inhale the sounds and scents of this beautiful bush land. Welcome to Bimbimbi House.
Every suite at Bimbimbi House has sublimely restful views complemented by well-designed rooms. The elegant Riverview Suite has two large bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen and laundry. The dreamy Garden Room has wonderful views across the garden and river. And charming Violet Cottage is a self-contained refuge, positioned to catch the sun setting over Jaggers Bay.
Hosts Beverley and Peter are truly cheerful bons vivants and raconteurs with belly- achingly funny stories (Peter was a film producer). Leave your mascara in its make-up case and bring a hankie in case you need to dab your tears. But you needn't worry about lack of privacy – these hosts also know when to disappear.
