Hungry ski hounds also know the vital importance of Ruby's Bar and the Couloir restaurant for socialising and feeding their inner skier.
The venerable Alpenhorn has had a thorough makeover, from its rooms (there's one for everyone from solo travellers to families) to the cosy guest lounges. Rooms are snug and equipped with all you need from in-house movies on the TV to a bar fridge and hair dryer.
But we are crazy about the new deck out the back, which forms a beautifully sheltered suntrap so that you can enjoy the mountain vista in real comfort. This is the place to shake off the snow and sit back with a hot tea toddy to boast about your
