This 100-acre working alpaca farm is snugly tucked into the foothills of the Border Ranges. Gentle Gradys Creek provides the ripples, and the couples-only cabins provide the perfect nesting place for a getaway from city life. The farm animals (alpacas, ponies and the popular Big Pig and Doris) are friendly and available for meet and greet sessions with guests.
But these indulgent cabins are persuasively romantic, with log fires for cool nights, double showers for shared back scrubbing and the large day beds for long afternoon embraces. The double spa set into the cedar deck is particularly appealing – grab a glass of bubbly as you adjust the louvres for the perfect view and plenty of privacy. For warm days, the creek provides lots of refreshing waterholes for quick afternoon dips.
With a seasonal menu, the cafe makes great use of fresh local produce; homemade desserts and delicious cakes are a
specialty. Picnic hampers, cooked breakfasts and delicious in-room dinners are available for guests. Pamper packages are options for those who need a thorough massage, buff and beauty shine. Location: 181km or 2˝ hours south of Brisbane. RA 29 A12.
Facilities: Two cabins, each with separate queen bedroom (one with DVD), lounge/dining (gas fire), kitchenette, RC AC. Deck with double spa, BBQ. Cafe open to public Wed–Sun; a la carte for guests seven days. Continental breakfast provisions provided. Visit this property's website
