The Salisbury Lodges Wilderness Retreat is a monument to the European taste and standards of hosts, Joe and Phillippa Augl. They hand built this extraordinary collection of timber lodges with a wonderful attention to style, comfort and integration with the surrounding environment. Perched in a sub-tropical rainforest bordering the renowned Barrington Tops National Park, the lodges are sited around a mountain-top lake. Here is a sanctuary far removed the pressures of daily life.
Guests can choose from a variety of memorable accommodation, ranging from the Williams Lodge (which can provide for a party of 10) to the secluded Bush Nook (a hideaway cabin for couples who need perfect privacy). It is all here: the open fires, spas, handmade furniture, slate floors and balconies that invite guests to step out, relax and breathe.
 During the day, guests can rove the country or take one of the new 4WD tours to Barrington Tops. The whole sublime experience comes together at the award-winning Araluen Restaurant, where chef Phillippa's cuisine is complemented by fine wines and the enchanting lake views.
