The hosts of this eclectic masterpiece follow the tradition of Lord Leighton, who created a Moorish interior in a 19th century London mansion to show off his Pre-Raphaelite art. In a marvellously Moore-ish approach, Peter and Sandy Moore have added a Moroccan Fantasy room to the kaleidoscope of delight that is The Retreat at Froog-Moore Park. This suite offers a claw-foot bath, an enormous shower and a day bed for reading Scheherezade's fabulous stories.
In contrast with Arabian Nights mystery, the Japanese room's Zen-like ambience evokes meditation. White walls defined by timber are set off by red and gold highlights. A full-sized lounge and uncluttered bathroom offer scope to glide around in the kimonos provided. Of course fun is paramount for some, and The Dungeon room lets your naughty-but-nice side off the leash.
 Naturally, the physical person is catered for as well as the aesthetic soul. A dinner and B&B package is a popular option, offering tempting platters and gourmet breakfasts. All this is matched by innovative gardens to produce a highly original experience borne of brilliant and careful conception.
