The name says it all – Allview Escape. First the view: it is a simply jaw-dropping panorama of the incredible Grose Valley (making you realise why it took the first white settlers 25 years to find their way through this mountain maze). And that leads to the escape part: so near to Sydney yet so utterly removed from urban reality.
There are two ‘cottages', which may be a slight misnomer. The gorgeous five-bedroom Malie's has room for everyone plus a gourmet kitchen, laundry and even a second living room. And we love the telescope here too, ideal for exploring the starry Milky Way on clear mountain evenings. Four-bedroom Isabella is nicely secluded from the main house, making it great for couples in need of privacy.
Allview can accommodate a party of up to 20 family or friends, making it a superb
wedding or small function venue. The backdrop to the photos will beat a church any day. Location: 112km or 1¾ hours west of Sydney. RA 24 D4
