Launceston and Northern Tasmania

Founded in 1805, Launceston is Tasmania's second largest city and gateway to the north. Its elegant Victorian streetscapes, numerous gardens and architecture suffuse an historic and gracious ambience. With three airlines flying routes from the mainland, and the Spirit of Tasmania ferry docking not far away in Devonport, Launceston is many a visitor's first stop in Tasmania. Then there is the wine region around the Tamar Valley (East and West on either side of the river) and the nearby historic towns of Deloraine, Longford and Ross to explore.

Remember, we have personally visited each and every property we recommend, so our reviews are an accurate account of the experience you can expect. And the photographs are all recent, so there should be no disappointments when you arrive.
