Once upon a time in a hidden valley, there was a mystical place that transported visitors to another world – luckily, that time is now and the place is called Cloudlake Mountain Retreat. With a shimmering lake, fairytale surroundings and enchanting places to lay your head, this secret world could be yours.
The historic Mother of Ducks cottage rises over the misty lake and is surrounded by an edible garden. The combination of a wide verandah, cane furniture and the bonus indoor/outdoor kitchens give a real African flavour – and, of course, binoculars are supplied to spot the wildlife in all its splendour. The contemporary styled Boathouse is the place to heave to and unwind. A wall of bi-fold doors opening onto the broad verandah allows gentle breezes and soothing water sounds into the house, and the lakeside campfire area will have you spinning your own tales under the stars at night.
 Huge red cedar trees and four distinct seasons add to the magic flavour of Cloudlake. Visitors are assured of a fairytale ending in this wildlife haven.

Facilities: Two cottages. Mother of Ducks: two bedrooms (queen and two singles), lounge (fire), kitchen, bathroom, verandah. The Boathouse: queen bed with double futon in mezzanine, lounge (fire), kitchen, bathroom, decks. Organic farm with olive grove, vineyard and seasonal produce. Self-catering.
