Posted on Friday, January 13, 2017

How do you get a group of best friends excited? Just mention the prospect of a girls’ getaway. Those two words are guaranteed to spike serotonin levels. Here at Beautiful Accommodation, we’re big fans of a girls’ weekend away. After all, what’s not to love? Planning a trip with your closest friends brings with it the promise of sipping bubbly, soaking in hot tubs, a massage or two and, most importantly, spending time with those whose friendship you value the most. The BA collection is brimming with boutique stays that all make the perfect setting for any girls’ weekend. Think cottages in spa country, secluded coastal retreats and escapes smack-bang in the middle of a vineyard. So, to give you an idea of where you could spend your next trip, we’re sharing 11 getaways below. Happy travels!

The Cooks Cottage, New South Wales

Tucked away in the Byron Bay hinterland, The Cooks Cottage is where hours melt into one another and you quickly forget what day is it. The blend of unpretentious luxury, homely vibes and uninterrupted relaxation will do that to you. This two-bedroom cottage is hugged on all sides by five acres of tropical garden and lush rainforest. You’ll also find a swimming pool, art studio and spaces for yoga. When you’ve done your day’s downward dog, mosey into the incredible kitchen, which comes kitted out with a bounty of cookbooks, delicious provisions and fresh local produce. Eat like a king morning, noon and night, and read on the hammock, watch new releases on Moviebox or explore the grounds in between feasting.

Dolphins at Sunset, Queensland

Forget what you know about old-school waterfront cabins because although Dolphins at Sunset has a classic façade, its interiors and fixtures are all 21st century. It's for this precise reason that this North Stradbroke Island stay should make the list for a weekend away with the girls. On your arrival, open up the doors and wait for the ocean breeze to drift through the three-bedroom house. You will also want to fill the fridge with your favourite white wine and gourmet treats. As you wait for them to chill, relax on the timber deck and bob your head along to the playlist you created especially for this getaway.

Grand Cru Estate Homestead, South Australia

Grand Cru Estate Homestead has a pedigree that will instantly appeal to a group of wine-lovers. It sits on Grand Cru Estate, one of the Barossa Valley’s most recognisable wineries and vineyards. With that comes some pretty amazing perks: direct access to the estate’s onsite eatery, the Wood Oven Restaurant, and the cellar door. Don’t let distract you from what is on offer behind the homestead’s front door though. Here, you can expect three lovely bedrooms, two renovated bathrooms, a lounge dotted with Chesterfield sofas and plenty of al fresco space, including an outdoor bathtub with excellent views. Full breakfast provisions are also provided, and your troop will be welcome with complimentary wine and a gin and tonic. Let that set the standard for the rest of your stay.

The Peninsula, Tasmania

You don’t need to be able to predict the future to know what you’ll say when you see The Peninsula in Dover for the first time. It will be a medley of 'ooh's and 'ahh's, with a string of glowing adjectives thrown in for good measure. The Peninsula sits on 250 acres of private waterfront, making it perfect for groups searching for a getaway with no interruptions. Three king bedrooms allow the home to cater for crews of up to six. A kitchen is complete with an impressive wine rack so you have space to stash your preferred drops, which you can choose to enjoy by the crackling wood fire or outdoors on the expansive timber deck. You will also find an eight-person hot tub outside. Make your soaks even more satisfying by exploring one of the private walking trails beforehand.

Sade’s, Victoria

What goes into making a girls’ weekend? Location and a list of highly coveted features. Sade’s has both of the above going for it. Found in Daylesford, one of Victoria’s most endearing girls’ getaway destinations, Sade’s has the kind of calling cards that will see it enter your regular escape rotation. There are four beautiful bedrooms to give you and up to 10 of your friends superbly soft places to rest after a day spent doing as much or as little as you fancy. The ground floor has the perfect set-up for indoor-outdoor living and throwing open the bi-fold doors will allow you to wander between a sun-blessed patch on the deck and the kitchen.

140 Mitchell at Mollymook, New South Wales

When sun and sand on the agenda for your trip away, it’s hard to beat the New South Wales South Coast – Mollymook, in particular. 140 Mitchell at Mollymook is an ultimate beachside weekender. It has the panoramic views, bedrooms with ensuites and curved balconies that provide a vista-blessed setting for sunset cocktails. Groups of six can spread out across two beachy-cool living areas, and your crew can enjoy being pampered by arranging in-house massages. How will you spend the rest of your time? Toss up between walks along the beach, curling up by the wood fire during winter and drives out to the region’s wineries and organic cafés.

Luxury Villa 113, Queensland

Tropical settings are to girls’ getaways what Nutella is to strawberries: a perfect pairing. Luxury Villa 113 in Port Douglas has that lush location; it is a part of the Sea Temple Resort & Spa. Accessed through a private gate, your villa has three excellent bedrooms, an elegant dining space, cosy reading room and a shaded terrace overlooking a plunge pool. Combine that with the villa’s cool neutral tones and Asian-inspired décor and it’s enough to make you feel as though you’re in Thailand or Bali. Everything you need to spend two nights, a long weekend or even an entire week is at your disposal, including the resort’s guests facilities – another swimming pool, gym, day spa, bar and restaurant.

Azure Beach Retreat, Victoria

With its assembly of cellar doors, top-rated restaurants and beautiful back beaches, the Mornington Peninsula feels like it was made for long weekends away with friends. And while you’ll revel in moving between hotspots, you’ll also want a peaceful coastal-cool pad to return to at the end of the day. Azure Beach Retreat in Rye is just that. At the heart of the retreat is the open plan living, dining and kitchen area, however there is also another lounge space that could be used as a movie room. The real star is the outdoor offering. Think a timber deck with al fresco dining setting, a barbecue for grilling up ocean-fresh seafood and a bubbling Jacuzzi for morning, afternoon and evening dips.

Malibu On The Beach, Tasmania

Malibu on the Beach is, without a doubt, one of the coolest stays you’ll ever visit. Its immaculate interiors and beachfront location go a long way in establishing this house’s cred, but the smugness you feel when you return and tell others where you’ve just spent the weekend won’t hurt either. Three bedrooms each come with a king bed and ensuite, and there are two kitchens (yes, that’s right foodies, this pad has a pair of cooking dens) for preparing all your meals. To work up an appetite simply walk across the coastal grasses and sand in front of the house – you have a private stretch of white-sand beach waiting to be explored. Those not looking to elevate their heart rate too much might just choose to take up position on a sunlounger. Tough choice…

Kangaroo Beach Lodges, South Australia

As if stepping foot on Kangaroo Island wasn’t exciting enough, imagine heading there for a weekend of laughing, chatting and relaxing with close friends. Sounds tempting, right? It will be once you see Kangaroo Beach Lodges, a trio of ultra-luxe pads perched on a clifftop. All three lodges boast sweeping ocean views and, naturally, decks and al fresco areas from where you can enjoy said vistas. Each lodge has an indoor-outdoor breezeway, four king bedrooms and a fireplace for warmth during winter. A contemporary kitchen has all the bits-and-bobs you need, but with a private chef and in-house dining available (by prior arrangement) it might remain as immaculate as you originally find it. Break up your visits to honey farms and cellar doors with walks along Snellings Beach and through national parks.

Clem and Times Vintage Beach House, Western Australia

Just because you’re going away with your girls doesn’t mean you want to be living on top of one another. You still need some space to yourself and that’s why the flexible accommodations at Clem and Times Vintage Beach House in Binningup are so perfect. Take your pick between the three offerings – a three-bedroom house, two-bedroom cottage and studio – depending on your numbers, or snap up the complete set if you need to cater for up to 13 people. Whichever you choose, you’ll have access to cooking facilities (a kitchenette or a fully equipped kitchen), comfortable lounges and an outdoor space. Binningup is located in the Ferguson Valley, only a 90-minute drive from Perth and home to a string of charming towns and wineries.
