Reviewers and photographers

Ross Doonan has a Bachelor of Education (Media and Fine Art) and a Graduate Diploma in Graphics Education. Having swapped the classroom for the great outdoors, Ross lends his talents to special photojournalist projects, including the Queensland and New South Wales editions of Beautiful Accommodation.

Jonathan Hawley is a very successful freelance journalist and keen photographer who specializes in cars and travel (what a combination). His work appears regularly in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Wheels and Qantas magazine to name just a few. Jonathan also happens to be married to Jennifer Lamattina.

Alison Griffiths is a professional photographer and digital imaging specialist. She has a Diploma in Illustrative Photography and experience in a variety of photographic fields ranging from portraiture to commercial and food photography. Accommodation and food and wine photography is Alison's specialty (little wonder!) and she was the principal photographer/reviewer for the latest edition of Beautiful Accommodation in Victoria and Tasmania. She has contributed images and articles to publications such as Harpers Bazaar, Australian Country Style, RM Williams Outback, Hoofs & Horns, Leader Newspapers and Victorian Lifestyle. Her work has also appeared in The Age, Vogue Living, Herald Sun Travel, Melbourne Weekly and MPG.


Dave Unwin is a Commercial Photographer with a broad range of photographic experience.  With clients ranging from Ripcurl to Real Estate, Dave is kept busy with commercial projects across Victoria and Tasmania. With a background in engineering design, Dave has a keen interest in both modern and classic architecture.  This combined with his love of the outdoors has meant the Beautiful Accommodation guidebooks have provided him with the perfect excuse to load up the car with camera gear and surfboards and hit the road.
