About Us


beautifulaccommodation.com is the digital counterpart of the series of Beautiful Accommodation guidebooks, which showcase boutique Australian accommodation options across all states and territories.


Entry into the guides is by invitation only and every property is visited, reviewed and photographed by our team. We try to include as many different styles of quality accommodation as possible, but we ensure they are among the best in their region. They must have distinctive style and high service standards, as well as welcoming hosts who love to share their local knowledge and passion for the area.


The books were established in 1997 and since late 2010 they have been a part of the Hardie Grant portfolio. The publisher’s stable includes Explore Australia, James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion, Margaret Fulton and many other travel, food and lifestyle titles.


The books
Each printed edition of Beautiful Accommodation has a shelf life of two years, with a print run of 15,000 copies. Distribution is via bookshops, selected newsagents, gift stores and specialty retailers, as well as RACV, NRMA and RACQ outlets. We also sell direct to consumers at travel shows and expos.


E-Books
In 2008 we introduced free E-Books covering the content of our printed guides. Readers can request a free E-Book of their desired region, which is emailed direct to their inbox.


Web Site
beautifulaccommodation.com offers a complete digital strategy. Wherever our readers are – in Australia or around the world – they can access our reviews, latest packages, news and deals.

National Promotions Program

We have supplemented our traditional bookshop distribution with a program of show promotions. Since first exhibiting in early 2005, we have sold over 23,000 copies of guides via stands at consumer shows. These have included the Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide Good Food and Wine Shows; the Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Perth Travel Shows; the Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide SEXPOs; and, the Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne ABC Gardening EXPOs.

Digital Media Optimisation and Syndication
We employ a website optimiser and our reviews are syndicated to trusted internet sites, such as ninemsn and tripadvisor.com, resulting in additional exposure for properties within our Beautiful Accommodation collection.
