When 19th-century travellers travelled 13 km out of Launceston, they gladly stopped at the Red Feather Inn for a friendly welcome, a drink and accommodation. These days Launceston is just 15 minutes away by car and the 1840s Red Feather Inn is still a haven, now with a decadent, luxurious French Provincial feel.Mellow sandstone walls and an uncomplicated Georgian exterior hide suites and rooms exquisitely furnished with French Provincial antiques. The two-room suites are incredibly indulgent; the other rooms are no less gorgeous. Downstairs there’s a rustic dining room and lounge leading out to a garden and the beautifully restored old stone barn (perfect for corporate retreats, small conferences and weddings).
With an ambience straight out of a designer magazine and the warmth of an historic inn, the Red Feather Inn is perfect for couples or groups wanting exclusivity and understated elegance. Red Feather Inn is one of our favourite new Tasmanian finds.
