This really is an extraordinary location; so much so that the surrounding Croajingolong National Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. And to think one can stay overlooking this wilderness in apartment-style luxury – very impressive.Whether you chose the Lakeside Apartments for couples or the Lakeview Apartments for friends and families, the setting overlooking Mallacoota Inlet is beguiling, not least for the abundant birdlife that darts from the lake through the resort gardens and back on their daily rounds. There are canoes to explore the water, barbeques by the pool and endless walks in the area, as well as a guest lounge (with espresso machine) and provision store.
Almost equidistant between Melbourne and Sydney, this has long been a favourite journey-breaker or point at which friends and family meet for a reunion. And being only 20 minutes to Mallacoota’s beaches, dining and shops means this experience blends wilderness with ocean for the perfect getaway.
