When you combine a sensational valley setting overlooking Mt Buffalo with a European interpretation of Australian architecture, you are in for a deliciously stylish stay. That’s just what The Buckland offers.These six eco studios have been designed and built using simple lines and creative use of materials to maximise their stunning position. Each is constructed of local stone, timber and glass and features a commanding presence in, and harmony with, their landscape. This theme continues inside with essentials such as a log fire, entertainment system and large ensuite (the glass wall in the shower is wonderful). At the same time, there is no frill or pretension – soothing tones and a range of textures create a cosseting feel.
Guests are enticed out of their cocoon for breakfast at The Buckland’s guest-only cafe. You might also step out to try the Fragolino at Michelini’s winery, dine at the highly recommended Simone’s in Bright or try the thoughtful suggestions provided in the guest compendium. Think of The Buckland as your sublime springboard to all that this enticing region has to offer.
