The Coachman’s Quarters is a French Provincial-style sanctuary in the heart of cosmopolitan Melbourne. Nestled behind a stately Victorian terrace in one of Melbourne’s oldest suburb, this heritage-listed pied-à-terre is perfect just for two. It’s also perfect for a Melbourne work stay, but even more so for food, wine and culture lovers wanting to experience Melbourne.Francophile owners Wendy and Ivan have created an elegant oasis so serene it’s easy to forget that Melbourne is waiting beyond the front door. Outside, a hedge-lined bluestone courtyard with a black wrought-iron outdoor setting invites long al fresco lunches. Inside, the high ceilings, chequered marble flooring and soft natural colours suggest lazy evenings enjoying nibbles and Champagne.
The Coachman’s Quarters features authentic French Provincial furniture and antiques – on a warm day, with the cicadas singing, you could be transported to Provence. Lounge on the chaise-longue, soak in the deep claw-foot tub, fall asleep under crisp linen. For sparking a new romance or simply rekindling old flames, this is an exquisite city escape.

Wonderful accommodation My husband and I absolutely loved the decor, facilities and unbelievable hospitality! Gorgeous! Will definitely stay again.
