Jacobs Creek Retreat is the result of hosts Patricia and Wyndham's wanderings in France, Spain and Italy – an expression of their passionate imaginings. It is set on the banks of the famed Jacobs Creek in the heart of the Barossa.
Guests will find a historic stone settlement dating from 1847, refashioned to provide a range of suites. Each suite is decorated in the hosts' signature style of gilt mirrors, plush bedding, Barossa antiques and theatrical Romanesque spa ensuites. In this village setting, pathways through a dreamlike French garden connect secret courtyards. Pencil pines, mature olive trees and oversized urns juxtapose with the ancient Australian gums shading vast manicured lawns. Wander through the David Austin rose garden to the rotunda, paddle in Jacobs Creek or try the estate's Moorooroo Park Vineyards Shiraz.
The hosts are chefs, making the five-course degustation dinners an absolute must and the garden conservatory is a divine venue for small weddings. Come for a weekend or come to be united for life – this is a place where memories are born.
